Maui Adult Day Care Center President Bill Kinaka and Vice President Roy Katsuda recently welcomed Suzanne Antounian into the MADCC family as its new executive director.

She assumed the position on Oct. 1.

For the past 17 years, Antounian was the manager of Kalama Heights Retirement Community in Kihei.

“We are very happy and fortunate to have been able to hire someone with Suzanne’s experience in serving and helping the seniors in our community and the commitment that she has demonstrated over the past decade and a half in providing outstanding services to our kupuna,” said Kinaka.

Katsuda noted that Antounian’s time in serving the seniors in the community is very similar to the years of service (15-plus years) that former MADCC Executive Director Sandy Freeman spent in carrying out the mission of the organization, which is: “To provide adult day care services to our clients in a family environment that is safe and filled with love, providing support to their families and caregivers.”

Both Kinaka and  Katsuda said that they are confident that not only will MADCC be able to continue providing the high standard of adult day care services that it has been doing for the past 42 years, but they are encouraged about the prospects of taking their program to newer and higher levels of services for their clients and caregivers.
